Let the countdown begin!

56 days until I leave for Singapore!!

Cannot believe how fast time is flying by. I graduated college last Saturday and my baby brother will be graduating high school in just a few weeks!
As I look ahead to the quickly approaching future, my prayer is that God goes before me - in everything. I ask for your prayers. I believe there is so much power in prayer, and it is one way you can be a part of this next journey of mine.

  • My heart and mind are open and ready to all the lessons God will teach me...the good, the bad, and especially the ugly
  • God prepares my future students - we are a classroom that glorifies Christ in all we do
  • God guides me as I prepare for my classroom - preparation such as daily routines, classroom management techniques, etc...
  • I take advantage of every opportunity - going to the zoo or getting involved at church - for the short time I am in Singapore, I want to make the most of it
  • Safe travel for our cargo being shipped
I truly cannot believe this is happening - it seems surreal....but I just need to keep pinching myself and remember, this is real and this is actually happening!! God is soooooooooo good...can I get an AMEN?!!?

Just the beginning....

The Lord is so faithful and HIS plans are perfectly perfect!!!!

This past August, my aunt and uncle told me they were moving to Singapore because of his work. They also told me I should look into the international schools over there. At first I did not take it very seriously...I liked the idea of it...but that was about it. As I began looking into various international schools, the idea of moving and teaching overseas started becoming very appealing. It has been a long process and it has involved A LOT of prayer. But after a lot of prayer and patience....I have accepted a two year contract for a 2nd grade teaching position at a Christian school.

I will be moving to Singapore in mid-July and will begin prepping for my very first classroom!!

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine myself teaching overseas, let alone at a Christian school. Despite my opposition to teaching at a Christian school, the Lord swung open the doors and I am walking through them - both excited and nervous.

This is possibly the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me....why would I NOT be excited??

In total, it takes about 30 hours to get to Singapore by plane. There is a 13 hour time difference between the Midwest and Singapore. On top of that, it is always hot and humid. I am also discovering the mounds of paperwork that is involved in a "grown-up" job and moving overseas. Despite all those things, this is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity. I am so thankful the Lord has given me this opportunity!

This is only the beginning of an amazing adventure.
