Fall Break is here

This past weekend was my school's Fall Break. It was very nice to have a long weekend - I was able to sleep in, rest, relax, and do some sight seeing! Friday and Saturday were very low key days. After school on Friday I came home and just crashed :) Saturday I stayed at home, did some lesson planning, hung out with my cousins, and even got my first hair cut! Sunday was one of my cousin's birthdays - we went to church, went out to eat, went swimming, and got some ice cream......

But we did not just get any old ice cream...we found Dairy Queen! I have been in Singapore for just over two months, and I believe this has been the best part so far :)

Just enjoying my M&M Blizzard.

While we were waiting for our blizzards, we found some fun garbage cans.
We found an elephant, parrot, and several other funny animals.

Sunday evening I met up with some friends from school and went to the zoo. Singapore has a normal zoo and it also has a night safari. I went to the night safari! There were elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, and many native Asian animals. One can walk the zoo or take a tram around to view the animals. My favorite part of the zoo was watching the fire show - these men threw fire, ate fire, spit fire...it did not look safe!

A fun zebra chair I found.

Enjoy part of the fire show!

Monday was a day at the beach! Sentosa is an island south of Singapore, but is still part of Singapore. It was a cloudy day but it was a perfect day to relax and enjoy the day off.

Sitting on the beach looking at the harbor at all the ships.

One of the resorts on the island.

Singapore is known for having odd photography. Sure enough, while on the beach there was a couple (woman wearing a wedding dress and a man wearing dress pants, top hat and no shirt) getting their picture taken....weird?!

I would say it was a good, relaxing weekend :)
