Spring Break came and went - as did I! The newest stamp in my passport is Beijing, China. Travelling with my usual group (uncle, aunt, and three cousins), we packed jeans and long sleeves, ready for historical sights and cool weather.
My uncle does his research when he travels - something I am extremely grateful for. He hooked us up with a driver as well as tour guide/translator. Our first full day in Beijing was the Lama Temple
Entering the gates
It is spring in China so the trees are still quite bare. The cool weather was so very refreshing!
The Lama Temple is a place where people come and burn incense to their gods. A sad reality of the number of lost people in this world. These people may have faith, but it is in the wrong god!
A waterless wishing well - coins were tossed in as people said prayers or made wishes
One of several statues people came to worship
Monks reside at this temple. This particular room was their study hall. Lamps and cloaks were the only material possessions in this room. The men came in here to study their bible.
Beautiful sand art
